Last weekend, during the TCS New York City Marathon, British runner Lucy Scott made global running history. At just 21 years old, she became the youngest woman in the world to complete all seven Abbott World Marathon Majors, earning the coveted Six Star Finisher medal.
“From never running to running all 7 world majors… wasn’t the result I wanted yesterday but it’s okay because I got my six star medal!” Lucy wrote after crossing the finish line in New York City.
A Remarkable Journey from London to New York
Lucy’s marathon journey began in London in 2024, when she was only 20 years and 3 months old. Since then, she has completed all seven of the world’s most prestigious marathons — London, Berlin, Chicago, Tokyo, Sydney, Boston, and New York — becoming the youngest Seven Star athlete in Abbott World Marathon Majors history.
Her average marathon time of 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 7 seconds is a remarkable achievement for such a young amateur runner who managed, within just a year, to accomplish what many runners spend decades chasing.
