Ukrainian half-marathon record holder Yevheniya Prokofyeva (NR 1:10:32) skipped the national championship in the 10,000 meters and focused on preparing for the fall marathon.
Recently, Yevheniya has been training in Kyrgyzstan, where she is preparing for the upcoming marathon. According to the Tough Athletics editorial office, Yevheniya plans to participate in the Berlin Marathon on September 24th. One of her goals for the fall marathon is to meet the qualifying time for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which is 2:26:50.
It should be noted that Yevheniya’s personal record in the marathon is 2:28:06, which she set in 2019 in Bila Tserkva during the Olympic Games selection, which she won. Furthermore, Yevheniya has experience competing in the Olympic Games, as she was the only Ukrainian to finish the grueling course in Sapporo.
